Private lessons

As much as I enjoy teaching group classes, my private lessons are also very fun. One on one focus - I can take ten minutes if need be, to teach the teeny tiny one to lay down, without worrying if everyone else is bored. I can flip from here to there - teach this, then that, then back again, without someone in class getting dizzy and confused.

Right now I have several private lessons going on, people who can't fit a regular class into their ever changing schedule, who only want a specific issue solved or skill taught, or who want the one on one time with me. Private lessons right now include a lab puppy, a 2 year old rescue basset hound, an adorable yorkie baby, a little malti/yorkie-poo mix, and 2 huge Great Pyrenees puppies.

And therein lies the rub. What am I to DO with these two puppies??? Now, don't get me wrong, they are smart enough and they will learn Just fine - but. I can't figure out what their owners want from me.

Shall we learn leash walking? no no, they can not learn leash walking!

Shall we come when called? no no, they already come when called!

Shall we learn drop it, leave it? no no, they don't pick anything up!

Stay? Would you like stay?? no, when they need to stay, we kennel them! No problem!

Tricks! How about a few tricks?? no, no, they are 'just' companion dogs - no reason to know tricks!

What would you like to do?? Oh, they are doing Just fine!

Head Bang.

They are coming in to sign up for more lessons today. I have to wonder WHY -what am I teaching them?? Maybe they are just paying me for my scintillating company? I am rather fun to be with........

Fun Kate!!
